Operating procedures:

1、 Operation of Transformer

  1. Under rated operating conditions, transformers can operate at a fixed capacity throughout the year.
  2. The upper oil temperature of the transformer should not exceed 85 degrees, and the temperature rise limit is 60 degrees.
  3. The load on each winding of the transformer shall not exceed the rated value.
  4. When the three-phase load of the transformer is unbalanced, the load of the maximum current term should be monitored.
  5. Allowable operating modes of transformers:

a、 The external primary voltage of the transformer can be higher than the rated voltage, generally not exceeding 5% of the rated voltage of the operating tap.

b、 When the transformer is in operation, the gas relay protection should be activated with a signal and connected for tripping.

c、 Before putting the transformer into operation, the duty officer should carefully inspect and confirm that the transformer is in good condition and has the conditions for live operation (whether the grounding wire is removed, check the position of the tap changer, and measure the insulation resistance).

d、 After major repairs, accident repairs, and oil changes, it is advisable to stand still for 48 hours until the bubbles in the oil are eliminated before putting it into operation.

e、 When the transformer pressure relief device generates extreme pressure during operation, the release device will automatically release. After the oil tank pressure returns to normal, the valve cover of the release device should automatically close. If the release device is activated, the valve cover will lift the indicator rod, and manual reset is required. At this time, the micro switch will be activated, and the wrench must be moved to reset the mechanical device, in preparation for the next signal to be sent. The release contact should act on the signal.

  1. The transformer should be immediately shut down in the following situations:
  2. The internal noise is loud and uneven, accompanied by cracking and electric shock sounds.
  3. The oil temperature exceeds 105 degrees.
  4. When the load and cooling device are normal, the temperature rises rapidly and abnormally.
  5. The transformer is seriously leaking oil, and the oil level drops sharply.
  6. The pressure release device sends out a signal.
  7. The casing has serious cracks, damage, and discharge.

 

2、 Operation of circuit breaker

  1. Observe whether the opening and closing positions are correct, whether the mechanism operates normally, and make records.
  2. Observe whether there are any abnormal noises, severe heating, or other abnormal phenomena inside the circuit breaker. If any problems are found, the cause should be identified, and if necessary, the dispatch should be requested to exit the operation in a timely manner for inspection and maintenance.
  3. The circuit breaker mechanism box during operation shall not be opened without authorization. Cleaning, inspection, and defect handling shall be carried out during power outages, and all maintenance items carried out shall be recorded in relevant records.
  4. After completing one energy storage, the electric energy storage mechanism will disconnect the energy storage switch. This energy storage will only be used for the current closing, and energy storage will be carried out before the next closing. When there is a power outage, manual energy storage can be used for maintenance testing and closing.

 

3、 Operation of isolation switch

  1. Observe whether the isolation switch supports porcelain bottles that are clean, intact, free of cracks, damage, and discharge marks.
  2. Observe whether the mechanical interlocking device is complete and reliable.
  3. Check that there is no overheating, discoloration, oxidation, or breakage in the wiring connections.
  4. When the isolation switch is stuck, it should not be forcefully pulled or closed to prevent damage to the isolation switch or the grounding interlock device.

Application prospects:

Compact Substations are the main direction of current rural power grid renovation and future substation construction, but there are still some shortcomings in certain aspects, specifically manifested in:

(1) Fire prevention issue: Compact Substations are generally operated in a fully sealed unmanned manner. Although all equipment operates without oil and is equipped with a remote smoke alarm system, there are still fire hazards inside the box, such as cables, compensating capacitors, etc. Once a fire breaks out, it is not conducive to ventilation or firefighting.
